HAVANA (AP) - Benicio Del Toro and director Steven Soderbergh were in Havana
to kick off a weeklong series of screenings of the Oscar-winning film "Traffic,''
a drama about America's war on drugs.
Del Toro and Soderbergh, who arrived in Havana Sunday, said they hoped to
show the film here again in December during the annual Latin American Film
Festival, the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina said.
The first screening was scheduled for Monday evening.
"Traffic'' won four Oscars earlier this year, including best director
for Soderbergh and best supporting actor for Del Toro.
The movie narrates three parallel stories that sometimes overlap about drug
trafficking between Mexico and the United States.
In April, Kevin Costner visited Havana to show "Thirteen Days,'' a
drama about the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
