VILLA CLARA, May 17 (Isabel Rey, Cuba Press) The yogurt ration for children ages 7 to 13 will be eliminated due to the scarcity of soy beans used to prepare it, according to the Provincial Council of the Popular Power here. The Assembly of Popular Power is Cubas nominal ruling
body.
Up to now, children had been entitled to rations of fresh milk up to age 7, and to one liter of yogurt per week from ages 7 to 13. The Provincial Council has not said if any other food will be available to substitute for the yogurt.
Soy beans are used in Cuba to prepare various foodstuffs. Yogurt is just one of them.
