HAVANA, March 15 (José Antonio Fornaris, Cuba- Verdad /
www.cubanet.org) - Four women selling food outside the National Hospital in
Havana were arrested February 13 in the morning after a police raid.
One of them is a pregnant 30-year-old who was selling guava pastries at 2
pesos, and sugared doughnuts at 1 peso each. A young man selling small ham
sandwiches at 5 pesos each took off when police approached. One of the officers
took out his side arm, but didnt fire as the youth ran into a crowd of
about 30 waiting in line for a bus.
Those arrested were reportedly taken to a police station located about 10
blocks away from the hospital.
