CAMAGÜEY, January 23 (Yoel Blanco García, CPIC) - Young patients
of the Leopoldo Rey Sampallo hospital, in Florida, Camagüey province, are
transported in horse-drawn carts when they need to go to other facilities for
tests because ambulances are not available.
Aimé Molina, 13, was taken the approximately one-and-a-half miles
from the pediatric hospital to the Manuel Piti Fajardo municipal hospital in a
cart for an ultrasound test, according to her father, Juan.
The girl, Molina said, was in the hospital for three days with an acute
stomach ache and doctors never diagnosed her ailment.
Patients are often transported by private car to specialized medical
