Tehran, Jan 15, IRNA -- The eight Iran-Cuba Joint Economic Commission
convened in Havana on Monday, according to the Information and Press Department
at Foreign Ministry.
The department said Agricultural Jihad Minister and Iranian Head of
Iran-Cuba Joint Economic Commission Mahmoud Hojjati, Governor of Iran's
Export Development Bank (EDB) Kahzadi and Cuban Head of the Commission were
present at the meeting.
The meeting discussed Tehran-Havana cooperation in the fields of mutual
interest, including economy, commerce, agriculture, sugar cane industries,
fisheries, biotechnology, customs, free trade zones, banking, and participation
in each other's fairs.
The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding in the areas of mutual
interest at the end of the meeting.
Hojjati is to meet and confer with Cuban president, Parliament speaker,
foreign minister and economy minister during his two-day stay in Cuba.
