Production drops affect workers' pay

HAVANA, September 21 (Carmelo Díaz, APSIC / CubaNet) The steel producer Antillana de Acero's failure to meet production quotas due to the irregular supply of electricity is costing its workers at least part of their wages. The company did not meet its 15,000 ton quota for July, which was the minimum stipulated to pay the workers in convertible currency. The workers say the quota was not met in August, either.
