HAVANA, September 18 (Jesús García Leiva / CubaNet) - Victims
of spotty information and an apparent lack of organization on the part of the
Havanatur tourism agency, the mostly Cuban travelers waiting to catch planes to
the United States witnessed and, in some cases, participated in a chaotic scene
at Havana's José Martí airport after last Tuesday's terrorist
attacks on New York and Washington.
On September 15, a passenger challenged an airport official to a fist fight
on terminal 2, and two others fought over their place in line.
Passengers complained that officials repeatedly misinformed them as to the
day and time their flights would leave, saying the Havanatur agency which
coordinates the charter flights between the U. S. and Cuba was not prepared for
the emergency.
