Food in the Amalia Simoni Hospital is being stolen

CAMAGUEY, Cuba, October 26 (Normando Hernández, CPIC/CubaNet) - An employee at the Amalia Simoni hospital reports that up to half of the food ordered by the institution disappears.

The source said that, by way of example, the warehouse would ship between 12 and 15 liters of cooking oil to the kitchen but only eight liters would arrive.

"That happens with all the food, and although everyone is talking about it, the hospital administration does not put an end to this robbery," he said.

Some former patients have told this agency that the meals they received in the hospital were meager and poorly prepared.
