PINAR DEL RIO, October 9 (Víctor Rolando Arroyo, UPECI / CubaNet) -
An ex-political prisoner's family was evicted from their home September 26 in
the Pinar del Río town of López Peña.
The local delegate of the Popular Power, Caridad Piloto, and a social
worker, under orders from the director of the municipal housing authority, Mario
Blanco Correa, carried out the eviction.
Several neighbors protested peacefully, but the officials paid no attention.
It was later learned there is an outstanding arrest order against Leónides
Andrades and his wife; should they attempt to go back into their former home,
they face nine months in jail.
