Police chief flees to U. S.

CAMAGÜEY, May 3 (Pablo Pacheco Avila, CPIC) - A sector chief of the National Revolutionary Police left Cuba illegally to ask for asylum in the United States.

José Seguí Estrada, 30, had been with the Interior Ministry for approximately 10 years, and was lately sector chief in the Ayamá district and investigator of the 3rd police unit here.

Relatives said Seguí had arrived in the United States after sailing out of Cuba from the vicinity of Nuevitas, on the north coast of Camagüey.
