Young woman dies before receiving medical attention

CAMAGÜEY, May 3 (Normando Hernández, CPIC) - Anabel Sarduy, 23, died without receiving any medical attention.

Sarduy, who lived in a small settlement about 25 miles from Vertientes, Camagüey province, had a strong headache in the morning of April 23. Relatives managed to take her to the family doctor’s office, but found there were no medicines there nor an ambulance to transport her to the hospital in Vertientes.

Sarduy died shortly thereafter. Relatives later learned that she had had a stroke.
