SANTIAGO DE CUBA, May 3 (Juan Carlos Garcell, APLO) - An unidentified
motorcyclist was riding the wrong way on Camilo Cienfuegos Street when a police
patrol car intentionally hit his motorcycle in Moa, in the eastern Cuban
province of Holguín. Officers then handcuffed and arrested him.
"The rider was coming down the wrong way, and when the two officers in
the patrol car saw him, they rammed him in such a way that the impact threw him
several meters from the motorcycle," said Elio Hidalgo Domínguez, a
local resident.
"The man lost consciousness momentarily, but that didnt prevent
the policemen from arresting him. A police officer named Portilla was the one
that pushed him into the patrol car," said Hidalgo.
Residents say officer Portilla has stopped other traffic offenders in the
same fashion.
The arrested mans wherabouts and condition were not immediately known.
