A park is missing in Bayamo

HAVANA, March 23 (Carmelo Díaz Fernández, APSIC) - Two months ago, after the announcement was made that a children’s park would be built at the corner of 2nd and Antonio Maceo streets, earth-moving equipment started doing its work and construction materials were stockpiled at the site.

A few days ago, any marginally observant passerby could ascertain that the construction materials were no longer there. Mysteriously, no one seems to know where they went. The watchmen posted at the site say they don’t know; the watchful members of the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution say they have no idea;

the police have not captured any suspects and the official press has kept silent about the incident.

"They have stolen the children’s park in Bayamo," say people here. "Believe it or not, they have stolen the park."
