Blackouts on the increase in Jatibonico and Ciego de Avila

CAMAGÜEY, March 6 (Pablo Pacheco Avila, CPIC) - Blackouts have increased in the central Cuban cities of Jatibonico and Ciego de Ávila in the last three days.

There was no power on Sunday between 3:45 p.m. and 9:25 p.m. and on Monday between 7:00 a.m. and noon.

Officials said that "the outages are due to a national emergency and most public services have been affected by them." They didn’t explain the nature of the emergency, however.
