Youths beaten for fishing in Santiago Bay

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, March 1 (Luis Alberto Rivera, APLO) - Four officials beat up five youths between the ages of 14 and 17 who were fishing in Santiago bay February 14.

The youths were fishing from shore near "Club Belmares" when the four drove up to the club in a white car, pushed the youths away, telling them "there is no fishing in the bay," and confiscated their fishing tackle.

Club Belmares is promoted by the Ministries of Tranport and of the Fishing Industry, and is located at kilometer 3 on the Scenic Highway.
