Madrid, July 24, IRNA -- Hojatoleslam Hassan Khomeini, grandson of the
late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini, arrived in Havana
Tuesday morning on an official visit.
Hojatoleslam Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, who is visiting Cuba at the
invitation of the Cuban Leader Fidel Castro, was greeted at Jose Marti
International Ariport by Cuban Vice-President Carlos Lage,
the Cuban Prensa Latina news agency reported.
He expressed pleasure with his visit to Cuba and termed it as 'a rare
opportunity' to further boost Tehran-Havana amicable ties. During his
April visit to the Iranian capital, Castro extended an invitation to Hassan
Khomeini to visit Cuba in a bid to develop the two countries' cooperation on
the basis of mutual respect .
As members of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Group of
Seventy-Seven (G77) countries, Iran and Cuba share joint stances in
international fora. |
