German Economy Minister Werner Mueller has started a multi-million-dollar
joint gas venture in Cuba as part of an effort to increase commercial relations
between Berlin and Havana.
Mr. Mueller inaugurated the OxiCuba plant outside Havana Monday, one day
after arriving in the Cuban capital with a delegation of German business
leaders, officials and journalists.
OxiCuba is a joint venture between the German firm Messer-Griesheim and
Gases Industriales de Cuba. The plant is to provide oxygen and other industrial
gases mainly to the western regions of the island. |
