Elderly man dead as a result of fall provoked by youths

HAVANA, January 11 (Luis Viño Zimerman) – Julio González, 68, died as a result of head injuries he received when he tripped on a rope which authorities presume two or perhaps more youths stretched across the sidewalk.

González left his apartment in Havana at 5:30 p.m. on December 30. As he walked outside the building, he tripped and fell on the rope. He was transported to the Naval Hospital where he died at 11:30 p.m.

The unknowns who stretched the rope across the walkway have not been identified.
