Venezuela to sign tourist agreement with Cuba, Canary Islands
Caracas, Feb 17, IRNA-PL-IRNA -- Venezuela is ready to sign tourism
cooperation agreements with Cuba and Canary Islands, local sector
sources reveal.
International Relations Secretary of Venezuela's Tourism
Corporation (Corpoturism), Isbely Barrera, pointed out that they are having
conversations with the Cuban government about an agreement backed up by the
existing Integral Cooperation Agreement. That agreement, signed
by respective Presidents Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, is already being
applied in the fields of sports and public health, and now they want to
extend it to tourism, the "industry without chimneys."
Cuba will send experts in training, statistics, consulting in
promotion and marketing, and attracting investment. The activity schedule
and its functioning are currently being defined, she stated. In the case of
the Canary Islands, the document to be signed includes training of
Venezuelans in hotel work and investment promotion.
