Demand for typewriter ribbons up in Cuba

HAVANA, April 26 (Manuel David Orrio, CPI) - A shipment of typewriter ribbons, not available in stores since November of last year, sold out quickly in spite of prices as much as triple what they were four months ago.

Clerks at several of Havana’s dollar stores, the only places where the ribbons may be obtained, said they "flew off the shelves." The ribbons sold for between one and two dollars in November and were selling for two to three times that last week.
