HAVANA, September 21 (Fara Armenteros, UPECI) Police have classified
Olsen Martínez, William Borrejo and Ramón Cruz as agents of the
CIA and have restricted their liberty to move about here since they were
returned by the Bahamian government through the U. S. Naval Base at Guantánamo
Bay after a failed attempt to leave Cuba.
The returned rafters say the political police have told them they are
preparing to try them and eventually jail them in Quivicán, west of
Havana.
They added that nobody will employ them, so they have to make do with
informal employment, which could be considered illegal and used against them in
an eventual trial.
The migratory accords in effect between the United States and Cuba provide
that no one who is returned to the island be prosecuted.
