PINAR DEL RIO, September 13 (Víctor Rolando Arroyo, UPECI) - Residents of this westernmost Cuban province take their pets to the veterinarian alleging the animals are ill in an effort to score some vitamin B for themselves.
The pharmacies of the Public Health Ministry here do not have B complex vitamins available, but there is one establishment that sells veterinary medications that does have it. Paradoxically, the vitamins sold are marketed by LABIOFAN, or Bio-Pharmaceutical Laboratories, an agency of the Public
Health Ministry.
Most of those seeking the vitamin suffer from polyneuropathy.
