Cuban Government Tries To Cover Up For Deaths In Florida Straits

HAVANA, September 10 (Gilberto Figueredo, CPI) – "The Cuban government is waging a campaign against the U. S. Cuban Adjustment Act as a means of distracting international public opinion, trying to blame Washington for all that have died trying to cross the Straits of Florida," said Orlando Fundora Alvarez, the President of the Association of Political Prisoners "Pedro Luis Boitel."

He said that "if [the Cuban] people know about the Adjustment Act it’s due in great measure to Cuban government propaganda."
