Shooting victims could be jailed for years

HAVANA, November 17 (Ricardo González Alfonso, periodista libre) – The prosecuting attorney is asking the court for jail terms of eight and nine years for dissidents Carlos and Víctor Rodríguez Figueredo, accused of theft.

Carlos, 45, and Víctor, 48, were arrested at the end of October at their home in Manzanillo, Granma province.

Several months ago, the brothers were returning from a fishing trip in the early morning hours when, as they passed by a planted field, the custodian shot at them with buckshot, wounding them. Their accusation results from this incident.
