Presidents’ avenue now includes foreigners

HAVANA, November 12 (Jorge Cordero, AFPCP) – Monuments erected to commemorate past Cuban presidents are being removed in Havana to be replaced by statues of foreign notables.

The monuments, all on Presidents’ Avenue, in the fashionable Vedado district, have been replaced with monuments to Simón Bolívar, of Venezuela; Benito Juárez, of México; and Salvador Allende, of Chile.
