Long Beach, California, May 19 -- An exhibit of works by 18 young contemporary artists living and working in Cuba today is on view through Sept. 10 at the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, California.
``Contemporary Art from Cuba: Irony and Survival on the Utopian Island'' includes paintings, sculptures and installations which challenge political and social issues affecting Cuban culture today.
Among the artists featured are Belkins Ayon and Esterio Seguria.
The exhibit was organized by Arizona State University Art Museum. A catalog and video accompany the exhibit.
The Museum of Latin American Art is located at 628 Alamitos Ave. in Long Beach. Hours are 11:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Tuesday- Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
