Tuberculosis Cases Up In Cuban Jail

HAVANA, May 25 (Moraima Pires, Grupo de Trabajo Decoro) – Tuberculosis cases are reported on the increase among the inmates of the prison in Melena del Sur, in Havana province.

Relatives of the inmates report that the known cases of the disease are not segregated, helping to spread the contagion. In addition, poor nutrition and hygiene and lack of medical attention exacerbate the problem.
