CIEGO DE ÁVILA, May 19 (Héctor Florentino espinosa, FAPDH) Residents of Ciro Redondo township in this central Cuban province have been complaining about unsanitary waste water conditions for years, for which they blame outbreaks of parasitism and hepatitis B.
Residents cite numerous instances of spills of the effluents from the local sugar mill and of standing water provoked by the same.
They also mention frquent spills in black waters from the local sewer system. Some blame a wax factory built next to the sugar mill for the problems with the sewers.
