Medicines Sent To Prisoner Confiscated

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, May 12 (Luis Alberto Rivera, APLO) Postal authorities at the Veguita de Galo post office in this city confiscated a package of medicines sent from abroad to prisoner Marcelo Diosdado Amelo Rodríguez.

The medicines were sent from Germany by a Mrs. Angélica Euchos Fuch for Amelo Rodríguez, who is confined for political reasons at the Boniato prison here. He is severely affected by hypertension and cardiovascular disorders and needs the medicines urgently, according to his wife, Raiza Lora Gaquín. She said that State Security officers have told her that We are not going to allow any counter-revolutionary to receive medicines sent by enemies of the Revolution.
