CIEGO DE ÁVILA, May 10 (Emilio Martín Morales, FAPDH) - An inmate serving a 24 year sentence cut himself all over his body with a knife on April 20 and was transferred to the Morón Teaching Hospital where he remains in observation.
Julio César Vázquez Vázquez had meningoencephalitis as a child and has exhibited excess aggressivity since. His parents have taken medical certificates to the penal authorities in an effort to get him appropriate care, but the official answer has been "in Cuba there are
no facilities for this type of patient."
