Rail Yard Has Trouble Hanging On To Workers

CIEGO DE ÁVILA, May 9 (Emilio Martín Morales, FAPDH) - A series of grievances has caused the railroad repair yard in Morón difficulties in holding on to its workers. Many workers have solicited their separation from the yard after waiting for more than one year for better pay. Typically they make between 160 and 300 pesos (U.S. $8 to $15) a month. In addition the workers complain that no breakfast or snacks are provided (both were previously available) and that the lunch that is provided is of very poor quality.

Also, workers complain they have no work clothes or shoes, which management says it has no money for. Finally, some object to the personal and belongings searches carried out by security personnel.
