Government Moves Against Self-Employed

CIEGO DE ÁVILA, May 4 (Juan Carlos Gonzáles Leyva, FAPDH) - The government has withdrawn self-employment permits relating to several activities in this central Cuban province.

Previously allowed activities, such as the manufacture and sale of ice-cream, certain refreshments, and the private sale of various items, are now off-limits to enterprising Cubans. At the same time, the rest of the population does not have access to the goods and services provided by the self-employed.
