Two Youths Knife Man To Steal 130 Pesos

VILLA CLARA, May 3 (Isabel Rey, Cuba Press) - Two men, ages 18 and 20, are in police custody here, charged with assault and battery on a man whom they knifed to steal 130 pesos (U.S. $6.50).

The two men entered the home of Manuel de Jesús Sánchez Benítez in La Esperanza, in central Cuba, shortly after lunch.

Sánchez suffered knife wounds to both sides of the neck, the face and the base of the tongue. He was taken to the local policlinic. After a three hour wait there, an ambulance took him to the Provincial Hospital where he underwent surgery.
