Traffic Accidents On The Increase In Havana

HAVANA, May 1 (Santiago Dubuché, UPECI) - There has been a noteworthy increase in traffic accidents in Havana, according to Captain Fernando Cáceres of the National Revolutionary Police as quoted in the official media.

An informal survey taken of drivers involved in accidents revealed that the hours between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. are the most dangerous. These are the hours in which government vehicles transport thousands of people to the "open tribunes" or to the "marches of the combative people," all political events asking for the return of young Cuban rafter Elián González.
