KEY WEST -- Fifteen Florida Keys Community College students and their professor, Paul Adams, will leave May 10 for a week-long photo excursion to Cuba.
Adams, head of the college's photography department, worked with the Department of the Treasury, which issued a license for Cuba travel to the Photo Guild, a student organization affiliated with the college.
The group will concentrate on capturing images for the photo-journalism class being taught this summer by Weston Kemp, who has published several books on photography.
The photographers plan to showcase their images of Cuba for the Key West community in a special exhibit tentatively planned for this fall.
``This license for educational travel is good for a two-year period and further trips may be organized for our photo students,'' Adams said.
