Cuban Customs Service Confiscates Magazines

HAVANA, April 26 (Mario J. Viera González, Cuba Voz) - The Cuban customs service confiscated a DHL package sent to an independent journalist containing 12 magazines it classified as "counterrevolutionary."

Ohalis Víctore, a journalist with the Cuba Voz independent press agency, was notified today that the package had been received and, upon inspection, found to contain 12 copies of the magazine Carta de Cuba, "the contents of which are considered to be against the general interests of the nation." The notification also informed Víctore of her right to appeal the confiscation to the Customs authorities.

The magazine is published in Puerto Rico.
