HAVANA, March 28 (Carmelo Díaz Fernández, APSIC) - Secondary school "Rafael Freyre" in Guantánamo, one of Cuba's easternmost provinces, has such a serious problem with lack of water that classes must be cancelled ocassionally.
Often, the students must collect water for the school from a nearby irrigation canal. The local water authority as well as education officials are aware of the situation, but haven't been able to correct it for the hundreds of students in the school.
