VILLA CLARA, March 24 (Isabel Rey Rodríguez, Cuba Press) - Someone painted several slogans mocking government propaganda on the walls of State businesses in the town of Hatillo in central Cuba last week.
"Elián González, the star of both channels," referring to the extensive coverage of the Elián affair in the two available TV channels, and "Elián, come back, you're entitled to one snack," making fun of government rationing, were some of the
slogans, along with "Down with Fidel."
Many say such outbursts come from frustration and exhaustion Cubans feel for the saturation coverage, in Cuban TV especially, of the Elián controversy and the campaign for his return, including two hours of live coverage of the day's marches and demonstrations and a rebroadcast of the
same during prime time in the evening.
