HAVANA, March 15 (Héctor Maseda, Grupo de Trabajo Decoro) - Thirty-five years after her father was executed by a firing squad, Yolanda Ibáñez has not been able to find out where he was buried or to obtain his death certificate.

Ibáñez's father fought in the guerilla war against the present Cuban government between 1961 and 1965 in the Escambray mountains, in central Cuba. In 1965 he was apprehended, summarily judged and executed. Presumably, he was buried somewhere in the same mountains.

Yolanda Ibáñez has been pursuing her search with various government officials for over five years, to no avail. She has written letters to Fidel Castro, to the Council of State, and to other government and Communist party leaders, but all she has heard so far is silence.

Ibáñez lives in the "captive town" Ramón López Peña, in Pinar del Río, Cuba's westernmost province. In the early 60's the Cuban government evacuated all the peasants from the Escambray area in order the deprive the guerillas of their base of supply. These people were relocated to hastily-built towns in Pinar del Río and forbidden to return to their home province.
