Public Transportation Worsens in Central Cuba

CAIBARIÉN, VILLA CLARA, March 9 (Héctor Trujillo Pis) - Several towns in the municipality of Placetas, central Cuba, have become further isolated due to a 40% cutback in bus service.

The towns of La Pastora, Cacique, Tibisial, Cuatro Caminos, Sabanilla, Las Ocas and Falcón have only sporadic transportation service now, due to lack of fuel. The train that operates between Placetas and Fomento, the next important population center, was itself out of service for one month.
