HAVANA, March 8 (Graciela Alfonso) - The Cuban Supreme Court let stand a sentence of death by shooting against Guido Inti Guimera Rodríguez, 29, according to his family.

Guimera had been found guilty of attempted armed robbery and of illegal possession of a firearm. In 1998, Guimera, along with 15 others, participated in an attempted robbery at a dollar store in which Guimera and a security agent were wounded by gun fire.

The case will now be forwarded to the Concil of State, which can either confirm or commute the sentence.
