PINAR DEL RÍO, March 8 (Marcelo Placeres Méndez, Independent Medical Association of Cuba) - Department of State Security Captain Elizardo Álvarez Echeverría is determined to intimidate Oscar Luis Gutiérrez Betancourt from participating in acts and organizations of political dissidence.

Gutiérrez, 30, who is discharging a one year work sentence under conditional liberty for disrespect to the leader of the Revolution, is threatened with a commutation of his sentence to internment if he won't cease his activities with the Party Pro-Human Rights of Cuba.
