HAVANA, January 19 (UPECI) - One or more unknowns fired on and wounded a colonel of the National Police in a Havana street in the morning of December 29.
Orestes Lavastida said he was in the vicinity of the corner of 19 and 70 Streets, in the municipality of Playa, in the outskirts of Havana, when he heard gunshots. He then saw one car leave the scene and another come to rest against the sidewalk. In that car, a Russian-built Lada, he said he saw
a man dressed in a military uniform slumped over the steering wheel, bleeding. The official press has not reported the incident.
