Cuban foreign minister begins visit to France

PARIS, Jan 19 (Reuters) - Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque on Wednesday began an official visit to Paris aimed at wooing French investors and furthering cooperation with France and the European Union.

A French Foreign Ministry spokesman said France had placed Cuba among countries with a priority for its aid. France is to triple its foreign aid budget to 15 billion francs ($2.31 billion) this year.

Perez Roque is to meet French employers association MEDEF and various cabinet members including Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine during his three-day visit.
