PLACETAS, February 18 (María Elena Alpízar, Cuba Press) - A cane cutter was sent home with an open wound because the medical center that treated him did not have sutures to sew it.
Benigno Díaz Bergolla cut his leg while working at the "Hermanos Ameijeiras" agro-industrial complex, in central Cuba, and was taken to the nearest medical facility in Potrerillo, nearby. The physician who took care of him cleaned his wound and told him they did not have any
suture material to close it. Díaz is resting at home, waiting for the wound to heal.
