The Aged in Matanzas Province Will Not Have Milk

MATANZAS, February 7 (Sergio González Suárez Inclán, Movimiento por la Democracia Pedro Luis Boitel) - The local authorities took away the fresh milk allotment to which people over 65 years of age are entitled by law, starting January 31.

The suspension of the ration is due to deficiencies in milk supplies and to delays in receiving supplies of powdered milk from abroad that is mixed with the fresh product, according to the local daily Girón.

Other people entitled to milk supplies and hospitals will also be cut to 50

percent of the usual allotment.
