Accident victims treated at night, without electricity

LAS TUNAS, December 4 (Juan Téllez Rodríguez) – Six victims of a vehicular accident were treated at a polyclinic in Vázquez, Las Tunas province, after dark and without electricity.

The victims of a collision between two trucks at an intersection about four kilometers out of town were taken to the polyclinic, where doctors tended to them under the light of a storm lamp. The polyclinic has an auxiliary generating plant, but there was no oil to operate it.

The six were then taken by ambulance to the Guillermo Domínguez hospital in nearby Puerto Padre about an hour later.
