CIENFUEGOS, November 28 (Alina Gonzalo, Cuba-Verdad) Seven physicians
from Aguada de Pasajeros are to be sent to Venezuela despite that they may be
needed at home.
The seven, five generalists, one gynecologist, and one pediatrician, were
selected by the Public Health Authority locally to go to Venezuela as part of a
package by means of which the Cuban government expects to pay for Venezuelan
oil, as suscribed in a recent accord between Presidents Castro and Chávez,
of Venezuela.
The Public Health Authority in Aguada de Pasajeros has repeatedly stated
that the problems in health care in the city are due to the lack of specialists.
So far, the Authority has not announced who will replace the departing
physicians or whether they will be replaced.
