The Paris-based international organisation, Reporters without Borders, has sent a protest note to the Cuban authorities over the arrest on Tuesday of three Swedish journalists in Havana.

The Cuban authorities detained the Swedes after they'd been meeting dissident Cuban journalists.

Correspondents say that if the Cubans follow their normal procedure, the three will probably be released and deported shortly. A French journalist was detained as she prepared to leave Cuba two weeks ago.

Her video camera, cassettes and documents were confiscated.
