PINAR DEL RIO, August 3 (Bertha Peraza, APO) - The trial against dissident Ernesto La O Ramos, scheduled for today, was postponed indefinitely before more than 80 dissidents massed outside La Os residence in a show of support.
Police went to La Os house before dawn and advised him that the trial was suspended until further notice. La O is accused of "disrespect of authority in the person of Roberto Rivera, officer of the Department of State Security."
La O is scheduled to be tried by the Municipal Tribunal of Pinar del Río. Speculation on the streets is that the trial will be held with few hours notice, something the authorities have done often in cases similar to this one.
